The SE Calgary real estate market has more lakeside communities than anywhere else in the city. Traversed by the winding Bow River and dotted with beautiful green spaces, playgrounds and great picnic spots, the Southeast strikes an easy balance between city and country. Like the rest of the Calgary, urban trails interconnect SE Calgary's communities and link them to the downtown core.

Southeast Calgary Homes

Close enough to Downtown Calgary to be comfortable, but far enough away to relax, the SE Calgary real estate market features many turn-of-the-century heritage homes, along with new construction in the mid to high price range. Manchester and the stylish community of Inglewood are popular with homeowners who like to be close to city life. Other popular neighbourhoods include the newer communities of Cranston, Chapparal, and Mckenzie Towne.

The newest addition to the Southeast Calgary real estate market is the beautiful Auburn Bay development. Complete with wide sandy beach and acres of forested parkland, this community of beautifully crafted lakeside homes is designed to evoke the best memories of cottage country living.

The Southeast is a rapidly growing area that will see many exciting changes in the near future. Calgary Transit will be extending the LRT line to Douglasdale and possibly to McKenzie Towne in the next few years. A new hospital located at Deerfoot South and 196th Avenue SE will be completed in 2010.
